Ome Plum Blossom Festival

We went to Ome, a town about 30 minutes away, to see the plum blossoms back in March.

Street vendors
Street vendors up close.

This guy was cooking some cabbage meal with pancake on top and later we saw he had the eggs on top of the pancake part.

Lots of fun masks.

Chestnut sample that a vendor gave out. They were weird. Soft and warm and not very good.

Yes, that is fish on a stick!

Starting on the trail.

These guys were having fun running around.

Painting the blossoms.

View of the city down below.

Funny girls.

Afterwards, we met up with Mike's assistant, Kaorie, for lunch at an "Italian" restaurant.
The girls had some milk which was very weird tasting, almost like you could taste the fat.

Pizza bread... could have past on this one.

Annabelle and Eedie's noodles. By far the best meal of all. Mike also had some....

After, we stopped and got some cream puff filled pastries.

But the hit of the day was these Japanese cookies. They don't look all that appetizing but they were surprisingly really good. Tasted like a vanilla wafer.
