Tama Zoo

For Memorial Day, Mike got Friday through Monday off. On Friday we headed to Tama Zoo.

A digital vending machine. Maybe they have these in the states now, but we have never seen one.
On the monorail
Eedie in front of the zoo sign.
There were some large groups of kids there that day. This was only about 1/4 of this whole group.
These two Japanese girls came over to say hi to the girls.
There is a lion bus at the zoo that takes you through the lion pit.
They put meat on the bus so the lions will come right up to it.
Crazy!

The Chimpanzees were another favorite.
They were so interesting to watch. Some kept getting into fights.
The guy liked the drink machine.
He would get a coin, put it in the machine, get their drink, drink it and then put the can in the garbage.
They also had this feeding contraption which demonstrated the chimp's ability with tools. The chimps used a stick to knock food into a central hole so they could eat it.
Some humans probably couldn't do this.
More fighting!
Kangaroos

Koala Bear
These tigers were also fighting.
I guess they do love each other... sometimes.

Fun day at the zoo!
