Week Shichi

This week we had more yummy food and saw a Japanese eating contest!  Here are some pics from this week.

Mike's assistant brought in this treat for us to try.  It looked like strawberry marshmallow something.  It ended up being really good!  The strawberry was almost a white chocolate sort of flavor and inside was a brownie.  Very different and interesting, yet yummy.

Homecoming was this week for the High School.  Here we are waiting for the parade.

It was a pretty small parade.

Annabelle didn't mind.  She got what she came for.

Eedie is starting to stand.

We went to the Fussa International Festival right outside base.  It ended up being just a few tents set up with food and games.  Here are a few of the foods we tried: Pizza (We assume it was some kind of Japanese version), some kind of beef strip sandwich, and our pastry cream filled dessert.  All were pretty good.

They had a food eating contest there.  These people were pounding away at Burger King sandwiches that were probably about the size of 8-10 Whoppers.  Craziness!

These two were hilarious.  The guy was actually an American from the base.  He kept looking like he was going to puke.  She just kept making these funny faces.

Another interesting thing we found at the festival:  cigarette covers for the fingers.  Maybe so your fingers don't smell like smoke or maybe so you don't burn your fingers?
