Hiroshima - NeNe and Pappy

It was about an hour and a half train ride on the Shinkasen down to Hiroshima. Here are the pictures from that trip.

We went to a Japanese restaurant that sold an assortment of different Japanese food. They gave us the Japanese/American style table; short table but room for your legs underneath.

NeNe and Pappy went to a bakery nearby and got us a few things for breakfast.

A pecan pastry, cinnamon french toast roll, and a quiche pocket.

In Hiroshima we took the street car to get around town.

In front of the A-Bomb Dome. We also went to the Peace Memorial Museum and learned a lot about the bomb and the people that lived in Hiroshima at that time.

This is the Children's Peace Memorial.

People bring their paper cranes to the memorial. We brought two of our own that Annabelle placed on the memorial.

My dad thought it was ridiculous how they wire (or don't) here in Japan. Things like this would never pass inspection in the US he said.

We had some ramen for lunch that day. Annabelle and Eedie both LOVE ramen.

We went to the Hiroshima Castle before we headed back to the train station to catch the Shinkasen back to Tokyo. This castle was originally build back in 1589 but was destroyed by the bomb. It has been reconstruction and the inside made into a museum.

There was an area inside where you could put on some samurai gear and a kimono.

When we got back we stayed downtown at the New Sanno and went and hit a couple spots in Tokyo the next day. I'll post that as a different post later.
